Speech & Drama Programme
In this short Online Speech & Drama Programme, students will build confidence in self-expression using their voice and body, while tapping into their creativity and imagination - over live Zoom group sessions. They will develop essential skills such as improvisation, characterisation, research, and audience engagement through theatre-based activities, texts, and literature. Play-based sessions will foster teamwork, boost confidence, and help shape a strong, expressive personality. The programme introduces valuable performance and delivery techniques that students can apply both academically and personally.
As the final objective of this course, the student will take the Trinity College London examination in Speech & Drama and apply their learnings. Upon successful completion of this examination, the student will be awarded a certificate from Trinity College London. While highly recommended, this is an optional examination; those not taking the exam will have the same learning journey and an internal assessment.
Certificate from J’s Academy will be awarded on successful completion of the programme for that level.

FAQs
-
At what age can I enrol my child? Are there any prerequisites?
This course is appropriate for students in school grade 2 to 12. Students are grouped with peers of their age and level of development. There are no prerequisites, only the openness to learn.
-
How long is the programme?
This is a 4 month programme. The sessions are held once a week for one hour — same time every week. After completion, the student may enrol to the next level and continue to develop the skills.
-
What if I do not want to take the Trinity exam?
The Trinity examination is optional and the learner can opt to not take it. This will not impact their learning and they will take an internal assessment at the end of the programme. However, we recommend taking the exam as the student will be prepared for it and many other advantages of performing in front of an examiner and getting the certification.
-
Can I miss the exam this year and then take the exam in the following year?
You can take the exam appropriate for your age whenever you are ready - there is no requirement to take all the levels / previous level exams to appear for the current applicable exam.
-
Can I join the programme after the start date?
We do accept admissions up to a couple sessions into the programme. We have batches starting at different dates over the year, please check availability with our admissions team.
-
What if the student misses a session?
There are no make up turns. The onus of missed learning is on the student. Their facilitator will assist them to help catch up.
-
What is the fee for this programme?
Please reach out to us for fee details, as they differ based on levels. No refunds once enrolled.
-
Can the parent / guardian sit in the classroom?
We do not permit parents / guardians to observe the session, as this is a safe space for children to explore and work with the teacher and their peers. You may reach out to the faculty for any concerns.
