Public Speaking Programme
The Public Speaking Programme will help children grow into confident, clear communicators — an essential skill for school, leadership and everyday life. They will learn to express ideas clearly, structure thoughts logically and speak with presence. Through guided learning and practice, students will build courage, reduce stage fear and encourage self-expression.
Students may take the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA) examination (optional) or an internal examination at the end of the programme. Every student will receive a J’s Academy certificate on completion of the programme.
Learning
In-class practices, training, individual and group tasks such as, but not limited to, Speech Writing, Debates, Talks, Presentations, etc.
Transferable Skills
Subject skills like Vocal and Physical Performance Techniques, Audience Connection and Imagination. Soft skills include, but not limited to, Confidence, Thinking-On-The-Spot, Organisation of Thought, Creativity, Writing, Critical Thinking, etc.
Application
Opportunities to apply the skills in class and outside the classroom such as, but not limited to, Presentations, Improvisations, Performance-based Examinations, etc.

Programme Structure

3-month programme with sessions held once a week

Every session is for 60 minutes

The programme is designed to achieve predetermined objectives which will get covered over the duration of the course.

80% attendance is mandatory, including being present for the dress rehearsal and the main stage show.

There is no prerequisite to join the programme - the learner will be grouped with their aged learners. Students are grouped age-wise to ensure age-appropriate learning.

Each batch has up to 8 students led by 1 expert facilitator.

How will the programme be conducted?
Sessions will be held live on Zoom, led by an experienced facilitator. The students will have to log in as per their class time.

How involved do parents need to be
Parents play an important supportive role. We encourage you to stay informed by checking your emails for notices from the Academy, ensure regular attendance and help the student practice at home when needed. However, all teaching and learning take place in class under the facilitator’s expertise.

How can I track my child’s progress?
Student progress is shared through scheduled feedback reports and Parent-Teacher meetings. You can also contact us via email to arrange a call with the facilitator. However, it takes time to see tangible progress and we request you to be patient with the process and the child.
